The Caribbean Disaster Risk Management Reference Centre (CADRIM) is a tool of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and is hosted by the Barbados Red Cross National Society. This Reference Centre was established in 2010 upon the behest of the Caribbean Red Cross Disaster Management Network.  

CADRIM is one of four regional Red Cross Reference Centres in the Americas that specialise in research, systematization, validation and analysis of risk management methodologies. CADRIM technical support is primarily focussed on the Anglophone Caribbean and Suriname with the aim to reduce risk, especially to the most vulnerable, through innovative and relevant actions at the community and institutional levels. The other three Reference Centres are the Reference Centre for Community Resilience (CRREC), located in Costa Rica; the Reference Centre for Institutional Disaster Preparedness (CREPD), located in El Salvador, and the Reference Centre for Emergencies and Pre-Hospital Care(CREMYAP), hosted by the Ecuadorian Red Cross. All 4 Centres fall directly under the management of the Policy, Strategy and Knowledge Unit in the IFRC Americas Regional Office, located in Panama. This Unit provide services and support to 35 National Societies in the Americas.

The CADRIM staff is complemented by a network of trainers from National Societies and partner organisations as well as consultants and regular interns, along with the technical support of the Red Cross Caribbean Disaster Management Network, the IFRC Secretariat, amongst others, to produce high quality contextual tools, methodologies and deliver trainings to promote actions consistent with key global and regional Strategies and Frameworks such as the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Comprehensive Disaster Management Strategy for the Caribbean and the IFRC Community Resilience Framework and Strategy 2020.
